Saw you last in Belfast, week or so ago. Missed the first half of the show, was on the website checkin things out and since I live in Hampden it was a quick trip. Good show and I must say Susan walked by me in the lobby and I had a moment like the “girl who brushed his arm” from Way Out West. No kidding. I thought she paused for a moment too. whooo.. Those don t happen too often. Haa! I play that song fingerpicking the opening with the bass run and melody at the same time. Bit of a trick with that walkdown from D. Probly should try it in an open tuning, might be easier. Hope to make the Buxton show. Saw you at Seadog in Bangor for that album. I remember the sound was soo good. Compliments to your sound guy. You played that big Guild, sounded great.

“Don’t Ask Me” is a great Malllett song, it stands with his best. It is an affirmation we need in these times.
Thank you David–so much–for this and all the other great songs.
I have always felt the same way about “After the Fall”.
Part of any summer return to New England is listening to David.

I am a singer-songwriter with some humble success on the Billboard chart as a bluegrass artist (Mark Houser and Bluegrass Drive). I have had several cuts as a writer including Rodney Atkins, The Little River Band, The Roys, Grand Ole Opry’s Jack Greene to name a few. One of the reasons I wanted to be a songwriter is Dave Mallet. I heard you at the Bluebird Cafe years ago. One of the songs that really touched me at the time was Like That from in the Falling Dark. I was at a place where that song was so relevant. “Leavin’ wasn’t even on the list, and it wasn’t supposed to be like this.” That song still touches me!
I just wanted to say thank you brother and wish you well. I so hope to catch a show again one day.

I first saw you at a concert in the early 80′s with a friend who went to college with you. I have been listening ever since. I played guitar for a long time then lost it for a while as life got in the way. Now at 61 your music has drawn me back to guitar and music. I thank you for all the songs and the joy they have brought to me and many others over the years.

We were fortunate to see and hear David Mallett perform right in our own little town of Fort Kent, Maine. We bought four CD’s that evening and have been listening to them ever since. I never get tired of hearing that beautiful rich voice and his lyrics are thought provoking. He is a true treasure of Maine.

I’ve been listening and seeing Dave for the better part of 30 years, I have all of his music. If I was limited to only having one artist to take to a deserted island Dave would be the one. His music has played a large part of my life whether skiing, sailing or just relaxing. I even named a boat from a phrase from one of his songs “on the shores of the windy blue.” If I ever have another sailboat it will be “Windy Blue.” Thank you Dave for all the great music you have given me. I will continue to listen to Dave for the next 30 years. Can’t wait to see you again soon.

This is my personal tribute to David and his music. I fell in love with New England, my late wife, and David Mallett in the1970's. From The Folkway and Pennsylvania Sunrise on through Del Rossi's and The Fable True, David Mallett and his music have been a thread winding all through my life with my late wife. My memory of so many concerts is inseparable from my affection for New England and all that it means. I am a "music freak", with many, many CDs in my racks, from Rock to Rachmaninoff, and David Mallett CDs are the largest number from any artist. Thank you David for enriching my life and deepening my love of everything New England, especially my Barbara. I’m hoping to see you again soon.
